A word from the pulpit

Well, here we are just after a large snowstorm, Christmas, and New Year's and I am about to let you know our Lent to Easter schedule. My prayer is that everyone has a happy, healthy, and holy spirit led 2010!

We will begin the Lenten preparation toward Easter Sunday on Wednesday, February 17th with a Jefferson Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service at the Methodist Church. Holy Communion will be celebrated. Then beginning on February 24th, JEM will have 5 Wednesday Mid-Week Lenten Services rotating through the three churches. February 24th will be at St. Paul Lutheran, March 3rd at UCC, March 10th at the Methodist church, March 17 at UCC, and March 24 at the Methodist church.

Maundy Thursday service will be April 1st at St. Paul Lutheran church with Holy Communion and Good Friday will be at the UCC. As our Lutheran friend's sign states "WE ARE OPEN BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND EASTER" Amen.

I hope you will take the time from your secular schedule and worship the one who gave us life and promises us eternal life.
